One Partner, Every Handlebar: How UNO Covers the Full Bicycle Spectrum

The handlebar is the single point where rider and bicycle communicate most directly. It determines riding posture, controls steering precision, and — especially on longer rides — defines overall comfort. Yet it is often the last component that assemblers think to optimize.

At Kalloy Industrial Co., Ltd, we have spent over 40 years engineering handlebars for virtually every riding discipline and market segment. From entry-level aluminum city bars to full-carbon gravel and road handlebars, our UNO-branded lineup covers the complete spectrum — all manufactured to international safety standards and supported by our global production network in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam.

This guide breaks down the five handlebar categories in our lineup, explains the design logic behind each, and helps assemblers make an informed sourcing decision.

1. Flared Handlebars — Gravel & Adventure Bikes

Certification: ISO 4210-R

Flared handlebars are a variation of the traditional drop bar, distinguished by their outward flare in the lower drop section — typically between 10° and 20° wider than a standard road bar. That flare is not a styling choice. It is a functional engineering decision: on loose gravel, steep descents, or rough mixed-surface terrain, a wider hand position in the drops gives the rider dramatically better leverage and control.

As gravel cycling has grown into one of the fastest-expanding segments in the global bicycle market, demand for high-quality flared bars has accelerated. Our HBL series (HBL001 through HBL107) addresses this market with a range of widths, reach profiles, and drop depths. The HBUB22 and HBFL12 extend the lineup with additional geometry options for riders seeking a more aggressive or more relaxed position.

For assemblers: All Kalloy flared handlebars carry ISO 4210-R certification, making them suitable for road and gravel bike builds destined for European and global markets. ODM customization — including width, finish, and branding — is available.

2. Drop Handlebars — Road, Cyclocross & Multiple Configurations

Certifications: ISO 4210-R, ISO 4210-C

The classic drop handlebar remains the defining cockpit element for road and cyclocross cycling. Its multi-position design — tops, hoods, and drops — gives riders flexibility for climbing, cruising, and sprinting, all from a single bar.

Our entire drop handlebar lineup is constructed from aluminum, spanning several series differentiated by geometry and intended use. The HBD101 and HBD102 cover standard road drop geometry; the HBTM series (HBTM11 through HBTM23) offers trekking and moustache-style profiles; the HBTE11 and HBTE12 feature ergonomic shaping; the HBCR and HBAR15 series are oriented toward road performance applications; and the HBCM series is designed for city and comfort riding, making it a relevant option for premium urban and e-bike builds.

For assemblers: Geometry and surface finish customization is available across all series through our ODM program. Minimum order quantities and lead times vary by specification.

3. Rise Handlebars — MTB, Trail & E-Bikes

Certifications: ISO 4210-M, ISO 4210-M+, EN 17404

Rise handlebars are flat bars with an upward sweep built into the center clamp zone, typically ranging from 15mm to 35mm of rise. That vertical offset raises the rider's hands relative to the stem clamp, producing a more upright and controlled position — particularly valuable for trail riding, enduro, and any application where the rider needs confidence on technical descents.

Our rise handlebar range is among our most comprehensive. The HBRB series forms the core, offering 31.8mm clamp diameter across standard and extended-width configurations. The HBR100 / HBR001 series and HBHR101 expand the range with additional geometry tuning, while HBUB12 brings rise handlebar design into the Urban Bike System platform.

Critically, the majority of models in this category carry both ISO 4210-M certification and EN 17404 — the European standard for e-bike components. As e-mountain and e-trekking bikes continue to grow rapidly, this dual certification makes these bars immediately deployable for electric-assist builds without additional homologation work.

For assemblers: Rise handlebars are available with 31.8mm and 35mm clamp diameters to accommodate a wide range of stem specifications. Width customization and surface finishing (anodized, matte, gloss) available on ODM orders.

4. Flat Handlebars — XC Mountain Bikes & Urban Riding

Certifications: ISO 4210-M, ISO 4210-M+, EN 17404

Flat handlebars — straight bars with minimal or zero rise — are the default choice for cross-country mountain biking and performance urban riding. Their geometry prioritizes a forward, aerodynamic position and rapid, precise steering input. In XC racing, every gram and every degree of aerodynamic efficiency counts; flat bars deliver both.

Our flat bar lineup centers on the HBFB series, which covers three main diameters (11, 12, and 21 series) each available in standard and long (L) widths, and in some cases extra-wide (W) configurations. This modularity makes the HBFB range a practical choice for assemblers building across multiple price points with a consistent component platform.

The HBHT101 and HBHF101 are our premium flat bar options, both certified to the more stringent ISO 4210-M+ standard — indicating compliance with higher fatigue and impact load requirements. These are particularly suited for aggressive trail or enduro-adjacent builds, and for e-bike applications where motor-assisted speeds increase structural demands on cockpit components.

5. City & Trekking Handlebars — Urban, Comfort & E-City Designs

Certifications: ISO 4210-C, EN 15194 (E-CITY)

City and trekking handlebars are among the most diverse and design-sensitive components in cycling. Riders in urban environments prioritize comfort, visibility, and aesthetics over aerodynamics. A trekking bar must support multiple hand positions on long-distance journeys. A cruiser bar needs to communicate a relaxed, lifestyle-oriented character at a glance.

Our city and others category reflects this diversity. The HBTR series (HBTR1–HBTR4) covers classic city and trekking sweep bars, with select models carrying EN 15194 (E-CITY) certification for electric-assist city bikes. The AL series — our broadest group, running from AL030 through AL092 — offers a wide range of sweep angles, center widths (35mm–90mm), and wall thicknesses, making it one of the most flexible platforms available for city bike OEM production.

Specialty models like the HBBI01 (butterfly/touring bar) and HBC101 (cruiser bar) round out the offering for niche applications, while HB411E and HB411OV are specifically engineered for the proportional and ergonomic requirements of e-city builds.

For assemblers: The AL series is available in multiple center widths and tube thicknesses, enabling precise fitment across a wide range of city and trekking frame specifications. Bulk pricing and private-label finishing available.
